Intern - Data Analyst - Summer 2021

Job Summary
Lumen’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the North American Operations organization will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. Data Analyst interns will have the potential to transform data into information that can be utilized to make business decisions and actions. The internship will take place in Broomfield, CO from 6/1/2021 - 8/13/2021.

Job Description
-   Gather and maintain data using organized data systems 
-   Interpret data and create reports based on insights
-   Develop databases using collection systems and analytical techniques, or other strategies to optimize the statistical efficiency and quality of the data
-   Filter and clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to correct any anomalies 
-   Identify patterns or useful trends 
-   Partner with management to prioritize business needs and stay up to date with the goals of the organization as they evolve 
 
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
-   Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university
-   Graduating between August 2021 – May 2023
-   In pursuit of bachelor’s or master’s in data science, statistics, or related degree program 
-   Intern is responsible for their travel to/from work location
-   Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe 
-   Experience with dashboard and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau)
-   Experience with statistical and analytical tools (e.g., Excel and SQL)
-   Experience with programming scripting tools (e.g., Python, R, Perl)
-   Experience with forecasting and predictive analysis
-   US work authorization is required

Preferred Qualifications:
-   Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 
-   Reporting and publishing tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, Teams).
-   Basic understanding of accounting/financial practices
-   Ability to demonstrate ownership and accountability
-   Organized and detail-oriented
-   Strong mathematical and analytical skills
