Intern - Data Analyst - Summer 2021

Job Summary
Lumen’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Strategic Planning and Transformation organization will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. Data Analyst interns will have the potential to assist in data governance initiatives through data modeling and centralization. The internship will take place in Broomfield, CO from 6/1/2021 - 8/13/2021.

Job Description
-   Implement software to master key data sets and attributes
-   Set up a common repository for data for cross- functional use across the organization
-   Consolidate data sets
 
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
-   Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university
-   Graduating between August 2021 – May 2023
-   In pursuit of bachelor’s or master’s in information systems or related degree program 
-   Intern is responsible for their travel to/from work location
-   Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe 
-   US work authorization is required
-   Experience with data analysis, statistics, and database management
-   Experience using PowerPoint, Vizio, Sway, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications:
-   Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 
-   Oral presentation skills
-   Problem solving abilities, techniques
-   Data visualization tools 
-   Knowledge of data modeling concepts
-   Basic programming and user experience design knowledge
-   SQL (structured query language)
-   Scripting languages (shell scripts, python, Perl, others)
-   Web design and build – HTML5, JavaScript, CSS 
-   Programming language – any one of Java, JavaScript, C#, R, Python, others
-   Organizational skills
-   Ability to work well in team settings, collaborative environment
-   Negotiation, convincing, consensus building skills
