Job Description

Key Position Objectives
The Behavior Technician provides high-quality treatment services based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, implementing behaviorally-based clinical protocols with fidelity, charting data and making data-based decisions within treatment sessions.

Please note:
- We do not allow our staff to work for other ABA providers while employed at JumpStart Autism Center.

Qualifications
Education, Certifications & Licenses
• High school diploma (required)
• Adult/child CPR certification (hands-on training, required)
• Registered Behavior Technician Certification (hands-on training, required)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of behavior analysis, psychology, or education (preferred)

Experience, Training & Other Skills
• Prior experience working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (preferred)

Role, Responsibilities, & Duties
• Provide high-quality ABA treatment services to clients within a one-to-one and/or small group setting in the center, home and/or community, meeting a minimum service delivery ratio of 80% billable hours to total hours per week (e.g. 32 of 40 hours per week)
• Implement behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as prescribed, while recording, charting, analyzing and summarizing data under the direction of the learner’s Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
• Effectively communicate with parents, caregivers, providers, and other stakeholders regarding programming and progress as directed by the BCBA
• Complete thorough, detailed session notes documenting learner progress, barriers, and interventions as per funding source and organizational requirements
• Accurately document all service delivery and non-service delivery activities, durations, and times using the appropriate platform on the same day of service
• Assist in maintenance and cleaning of learner materials during pre- and post-session duties
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work and treatment environment at all times
• Utilize safe and appropriate crisis intervention and prevention strategies with all learners
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and American Psychological Association
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all state and federal laws
• Attend, complete and maintain all assigned training and required certifications, including but not limited to the Registered Behavior Technician credential, SafetyCare specialist certification, and CPR
• Maintain professional appearance, boundaries and ethical standards of care across all interactions with staff, learners, families, other professionals and funding sources

This position has basic requirements including:
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different sites within a thirty-mile radius of an assigned home base center
• Must have and present a valid driver’s license and insurance in good standing

This position has basic and physical requirements including:
• Must be able to walk, run, bend down, stand, sit, and assume a variety of postures
(kneeling, squatting, crawling, etc.) for extended periods of time and in a variety of locations (indoor, outdoor, on the floor, etc.)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, in both indoor and outdoor conditions
• Must be able to move from sitting to standing quickly
• Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the learner’s treatment plan
• Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
• Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include the center, home, school and community placements
• Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication
• Must be able to maintain a distraction free and safe environment to ensure the learner is able to acquire skills being taught
• Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic device and paper means

This position may require occasional work hours beyond a typical work day, such as early morning hours before 8:00am and late evening hours after 6:30pm as needed for learners’ clinical programming and training.
