Administrative Internship - Summer 2021

This position is intended as an educational opportunity, but interns are also expected to participate in and contribute to improving hospital operations through the completion of a sponsored project and other assignments.About Intermountain Healthcare and Specialty Based Care
Intermountain Healthcare is a Utah-based system of nonprofit hospitals, clinics, health services, and health plans. The organization has an international reputation as a pioneer in the continuous improvement of clinical quality and as a leader in the development of clinical programs.  Intermountain Healthcare has been repeatedly recognized as one of the top integrated healthcare delivery systems in the country and recently recognized by President Obama as an “island of excellence” in American healthcare.
Specialty Based Care is a division of Intermountain Healthcare responsible for 24 hospitals, 6 surgery centers and 5 acute care service lines. December 2018, 22 Intermountain hospitals from five separate regions were combined under a unified Specialty Based Care model. By eliminating regions and regional leadership groups, and operating as a single operational entity, Specialty Based Care can find increased efficiencies, and greater ability to standardize work processes, leverage shared resources, harness technology, reduce redundancies, and give the organization greater flexibility and nimbleness to the Intermountain system. This should lead to a safe, high reliability patient experience at each of our hospitals, with reduced costs, and a greater value to the patients and communities we serve.
