Mechanical Engineering Intern

We are seeking an engineering student to join our Advanced Surgical R&D team for a mechanical engineering internship during Summer, 2021.
Advanced Surgical products include:
- Advanced insufflation systems
- Advanced energy systems
- Electrosurgical units (ESU’s)
- Laparoscopic surgical instruments
As an Advanced Surgical R&D Engineering Intern, you will learn alongside seasoned professionals through hands-on application of engineering principles and methodologies. Your efforts in problem solving, creative thinking and cross-functional collaboration will directly contribute to the team’s R&D projects and initiatives.
The Intern’s responsibilities will include:
- Perform CAD modeling and simulation using SolidWorks
- Assist in inventing / creating concepts and designs/approaches for new products
- The opportunity to work hands-on in a mechanical lab
- Create and evaluate prototype designs
- Perform design verification and validation
- Work with a cross-functional team to develop new test methods and protocols
- Develop fixturing/instrumentation

Position Requirements:
- Pursing completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering preferred
- Must be available to work onsite out of the Denver, CO site, Monday – Friday throughout the summer internship program (June 1 – July 30, 2021)
- Experience with 3-D modeling (SolidWorks) is a plus
- Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus
