Student Membership Coordinator


The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is seeking an enthusiastic, mission-driven and experienced Student Membership Coordinator who will thrive in a challenging and dynamic work environment. This position will play a key role in building and conveying the value of ASES to our members; maintaining membership records; identifying and cultivating new members; and developing marketing campaigns for our programs and resources.

This position is part-time and 100% remote work. This requires a laptop, internet connection, and phone.

Duties:
  • Handling all questions and information requests regarding ASES student membership.
  • Maintaining and updating membership records.
  • Assisting with member communication activities
  • Collecting data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports
  • Developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members
  • Preparing membership marketing materials
  • Developing value proposition of ASES student membership
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Highly organized.

All internship positions provide a strong introduction to renewable energy as well as the operation of a non-profit organization. They typically require 10 hours/week, for six months, and while they are non-paid, internships are eligible for university credit. In some cases, outstanding internship performance can lead to paid part-time positions and extended internship positions.

The intern will receive routine feedback at biweekly intern check-in calls and other meetings as scheduled, and be supervised by a professional with expertise and educational and professional background in the renewable energy field. The intern will also collaborate with members of the Board of Directors of ASES and other renewable energy professionals.
