With our team, you'll help us answer critical questions using mathematical models and statistical analysis to derive practical insights of threat intelligence data. Collaborating with fellow data scientists and analyzing massive data sets of threat activity, you will discover new insights and create real world solutions. Your findings will be leveraged in presentations given to our customers and at major cybersecurity conferences, impacting the way we protect the businesses with whom we work.
As a Data Science Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms to derive practical insights of threat intelligence data
- Applying insights to improve understanding of threat activity, including malicious bot and fraud detection and behavioral authentication
- Producing and publishing dynamic data-driven content and compelling visualizations to communicate insights to executive management
- Collaborating with engineering colleagues across the organization to identify sources of relevant datasets
- Designing scalable and repeatable processes to collect, manipulate, present, and analyze large datasets in a production-ready environment
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be currently studying in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, or another related field
- Be available to work approximately 40 hours per week and be returning to school after the internship
- Have experience with SQL and one or more related databases such as MySQL, SQLite, or PostgreSQL
- Be comfortable using R and Python for data analysis
- Have experience with HTML/CSS for data visualization and content creation (nice to have)
- Have an ability to build trusted relationships across teams and with partners
- Have a passion for delivering insights in a way that is intuitive for a wide audience
- Be motivated to solve problems creatively and with practical insights
