General summary of work: the new hire will work as a technician in the Davis lab to assist graduate students in field and labwork, mostly related to sampling of bees, pollen, and floral resources.

minimum requirements: an interest in insect ecology and the ability to work 20-30 hours per week. A valid drivers license and enrolled as a CSU student.
 
preferred requirements: experience or coursework in natural resources and a desire to gain experience in the field of ecology. The ability to hike long distances and occasionally work 10-12 hour days in the field, sometimes under adverse weather conditions. The ability to carry 30 lbs of equipment during field work, and previous lab or field experience.
 
duties: exact duties will vary depending on specific graduate student projects, but students will work on setting up and monitoring bee trap nests, sampling pollen and bees from trap nests, creating and analyzing a library of pollen slides, collecting bees and dissecting them to create slides from intestinal extractions, data recording and entry into spreadsheet format, management and curation of samples, and sampling of floral resources across diverse sites in the Front Range region.
