Entry Level Mechanical Engineer - Reactor Hardware

Reactor Hardware offers unique opportunities to perform structural evaluations of complex components in support of reactor core manufacturing. Work tasks include evaluating non-conforming conditions for production components to maintain delivery schedules, certifying product compliance with design requirements, validating design readiness for operations, and retiring design risks. Analyses are performed using commercial codes, in-house developed codes, and hand calculations. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to coordinate work efforts with stakeholders, such as nuclear, thermal/hydraulic, and materials organizations. The large variety of evaluations and available technical training provide significant learning opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS *

Associate:
  • BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.
 
Intermediate:
  • BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
  • MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience; or
  • Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
  • SRE Qualification

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Structural analysis experience
  • Finite element analysis experience with ABAQUS
  • Computer scripting experience with MATLAB or Python
  • Experience reading engineering design drawings
  • Experience with manufacturing techniques and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience coordinating work and integrating results of a team
