Guest Experience Associate

POSITION TITLE: Guest Experience Associate
 
REPORTS TO: Manager of Guest Experience/Supervisor of Guest Experience/Senior Lead/Team Leads
 
SUPERVISES: N/A
 
EXEMPT OR NON-EXEMPT:  Non-Exempt
 
PERCENTAGE OF FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT: part time seasonal or permanent
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
·      Able to lift up to 30 lbs
·      Able to stand for long periods of time in an indoor or outdoor environment
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
 
The Guest Experience Associate’s main responsibility is to ensure all guests have an enhanced, FUN and positive experience during their visit to Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA). They are here to educate, entertain, engage, and assist in all guest needs to make each visit an enjoyable one.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
·      Take initiative to approach and engage guests throughout the entire facility at all times
·      Support the department's goal to ensure all guests have a positive, FUN, and educational visit
·      Learn and share information about marine life, our resident animals, our facility, and both Dolphin Tale movies
·      Answer questions, resolve guest issues, and educate about our mission and work at the animal hospital
·      Engage guests at our touch tanks by handling small animals (sea urchins, crabs, etc.)
·      Enhance the guest experience by using props such as Winter's prosthetic tail, Sea Turtle shells, puppets etc. to entertain, educate and inform our visitors
·      Welcoming guests as they approach the entrance/ticketing area
·      Direct guests to the proper ticketing line and boats
·      Monitor queue lines and engage guests in line with props
·      Perform as one of the CMA mascots or handler
·      Use microphones to give short presentations to groups, host and/or produce theater shows, and lead private group tours of the facility
·      Ability to speak professionally on a microphone
·      Other duties as assigned
 
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 
·      High School diploma or GED
·      Bilingual preferred
·      Previous customer service, hospitality or attraction industry experience is required
·      Must be capable of standing and walking for long periods of time
·      Excellent interpersonal skills
·      Great with spontaneous crowd-interaction
·      Over the top FUN personality
·      Strong verbal communication skills
·      Acting/performance experience a plus
·      Public speaking experience a plus
