Central Receiving Mail Services Assistant
Colorado State University's Department of Central Receiving is seeking students to work in a fast-paced environment receiving and processing USPS mail and parcels as well as assisting in Mail Production with bulk mailings with Customer Service being our number one goal.
- Seeking 1 self-motivated, responsible, and enthusiastic student employee to assist in all aspects of Mail Services including receiving incoming USPS, processing outgoing letter mail, and assisting in Mail Production with bulk mailings and projects.
- Must be able to work 3 – 5, 2-4 hour shifts M-F between 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with the opportunity to continue employment through semester breaks and into the following semester, as well as up to 40hrs during Summer Break. We will work around class schedules for well qualified applicants.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide support to our Team at Mail Services helping receive incoming mail and parcels from USPS, pitching and organizing letters, flats, and parcels to be delivered, assisting in the Look Up process, and providing support in Mail Production.
- As part of our Mail Production team, you may assist in running equipment, stocking of Postal supplies, and preparing bulk mailings.
- Assist the delivery drivers with pulling the letters, flats and parcels for delivery runs.
Required Skills:
- Must be able to safely lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Responsible behavior and the ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Be able to use an Android based handheld scanner.
- Be able to use and understand Excel.
- Ability to work independently and within a Team environment.
- Punctual, accountable, and responsible in their work.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using a metering machine.
- Experience with production equipment.
- Experience handling USPS mail.
