The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is seeking a student researcher for Dr. Snow's lab.
- Use molecular cloning methods (splice-by-overlap extension or QuikChange mutagenesis) to construct plasmids encoding a family of fusion proteins
- Express novel recombinant fusion proteins using shake flask expression, conduct affinity purification, and setup crystal growth screens for doped porous protein crystals
- Confocal microscope imaging of fluorescent protein crystals
- Devise a protocol for the controlled synthesis of magnetite domains within porous protein crystal nanopores.
