The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for over six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an experienced Secretary to assist with general office management duties. This is a non-benefited, part-time position. Work hours will be from Monday through Friday, generally in the afternoons, exact times may be negotiated.

Position Description                                
This position will be supporting a medium sized team of scientists and engineers that work onsite at Kirtland Air Force Base. An existing security clearance and the ability to obtain a CAC is a firm requirement.

The role is to support the technical scientific and engineering staff by relieving some of their administrative duties. Most of the daily activities will involve reporting and data entry tasks related to property tracking. There may be additional tasking as assigned. 

The daily tools used for this position will include copiers, scanners, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), web browsers, and database packages. An example might be to reconcile monthly Purchasing Card transaction reports.   

Knowledge of the federal acquisition process (FAR, FAR supplements, etc) is a major advantage.

This position will initiate and process small and medium sized purchase orders and perform a variety of routine buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services. Often this will require coordination with other SDL and US Government business units to follow the appropriate procedures and paperwork. For example, this might mean assisting in the completion of Sole Source Justification documentation by compiling statistical information and gathering other data as required.

This position will review purchase requisitions, place orders with approved suppliers, and follow up with vendors until completion of order. Other duties may include scheduling meetings, conference rooms, and attendees.

Required Qualifications:
· Minimum of 2-years related experience
· Must be a US Citizen and currently have an active DoD Security Clearance, or a clearance that can be reactivated
· Experience with Microsoft Office software and common office equipment
· Excellent verbal, written, and professional communication skills
· Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Ability to prioritize assignments
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
· Punctual
· Professional, friendly demeanor
· Demonstrated office organizational skills
