Specialist, Integrated Brand Communications

Summary
The Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Division is a highly dynamic and collaborative team that is dedicated to driving better integration across the agency. In a nutshell, that means we are all committed to creating a clear and compelling brand positioning, driving more awareness of our advocacy positions and programmatic impact, providing multiple touchpoints for engaging with our organization and ultimately encouraging long term financial commitment to Save The Children. We want to inspire relationships, not transactions -- not just with the American Public, but across all of our key audiences – corporate partners, Large Public Institutions, policymakers, and employees.
We’re at a moment of great change in the world and we know our words, images and representation matter. You will help to transform how we speak about our work. With greater transparency, we’re looking to drive compelling and emotional messages that drive the public and our supporters from awareness and engagement to become brand loyalists. We want to authentically inspire millions of new supporters to support our cause. You will message to the public and various key audience segments including mass market, corporate partners, large institutional donors, employees and policymakers with a focus on digital communications. You’ll need to be agile to support our “ride the wave” activities where we lean in on public interest and trending topics as well as campaigns and key moments, and will thrive in a highly creative and innovative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
Writing and editing for key audiences (75%):
  • Work with the Associate Creative Director and other agency stakeholders to develop compelling messages aligned with brand positioning, brand guidelines and key brand differentiators. Communications will be timely and relevant aligning with public interest, the agency editorial calendar and campaign priorities.
  • Focus on digital communications including web, social and email. Also, responsibility for print, out of home, radio and video. Communications will be used to build awareness for the organization, create engagement via participation and advocacy and support fundraising efforts. 
  • Create, edit, revise and proofread copy, understanding how to reach our target audiences through each channel.
  • Provide copywriting support for other consumer-facing projects, including scripts, interactive experiences, content packs, annual report, thought leadership moments.
  • Support emergency responsiveness through timely, effective emergency communications. Take on other relevant projects and work, as assigned.
Business-to-Business Communications (15%):
  • Contribute to presentation decks, toolkits, sell sheets and other materials designed to support campaigns, partners and agency objectives.
Project Management (10%):
  • Brief, train and liaise with teams and vendors as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, plus at least three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated successful ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels
  • Proven ability to produce world-class messaging under tight deadlines
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Demonstrated understanding of site builds, programmatic digital advertising, SEO, email best practices and other related brand communications topics
  • Proven ability to successfully pitch rationale for messaging to other teams and stakeholders – internally and externally as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects and deadlines in a fast paced environment including projects with quick turnaround time.
  • Sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Successful candidate must be able to show a portfolio of work and demonstrate ability to write for digital communications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advertising/Marketing agency experience a plus
