Job Summary
The Market Research, Consumer Insights Intern (remote) will be responsible for supporting several Innovation Team market research projects to advance the use of teledentistry and better understand its value proposition. The intern will conduct primary market research and secondary analysis to investigate consumer preferences for teledental services and determine the optimal customer experience, product offering, and category messaging, to maximize adoption and usage by both providers and members. During the (10week) internship, the focus is to partner with team members across the organization, helping design, develop and manage primary market research studies, conducting analysis on survey data, preparing secondary research to define access and delivery of care, and reporting on results.
 
Additionally, the intern will be responsible for supporting members of the Innovation team through data analysis and other duties, as needed. The intern will prepare and present a final report to summarize findings and recommendations.
 
In this role, you must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills and experience, plus the ability to communicate effectively.
 
Primary Job Responsibilities
  • This role will conduct primary and secondary market research and analysis to investigate consumer preferences for successful product delivery of teledental services.
  • Pulling and manage sample data and performing data analysis to identify learnings, trends, and insights by closely collaborating with business consultants and team members.
  • Support survey design, data collection, analysis, and reporting stages.
  • Evaluate and analyze survey data and reporting.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately in Teams/Sharepoint.
  • Develop a final presentation/report to display research results and key implications.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
Primary Research
  • In collaboration with team members/consultants, create survey questionnaires and discussion guides using in-house tools and pull sample files for qualitative and quantitative studies. Ensure sample accurateness and completeness.
  • Coordinate data collection for survey efforts.
  • Analyze primary market research data (including transactional survey data) for key findings and trends.
  • Develop and present study findings, helping to craft key findings and implications.
Secondary Research
  • Support and conduct industry, market and competitive analyses, In collaboration with team members/consultants.
  • Ensure quality, integrity and timeliness of research deliverables.
 
Job Qualifications
Required:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in market research, business, marketing, pre-medical, economics or a related field and building a strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA).
  • Experience in market research and consumer insights.
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task.
  • Clear understanding of the end-to-end market research process (i.e. needs assessment, research design, field management, results analysis, presentation and recommendations).
  • Strong aptitude for working with data.
  • Basic understanding of primary (qualitative and quantitative) market research techniques and secondary research, and application of statistical methods.
  • Outstanding leadership experience in school.
  • Very strong interest in innovation, health insurance, customer experience and marketing.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (oral and written).
  • A very flexible self-starter.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • An energetic, creative, and collaborative approach to working and problem solving; must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other business-related software.
 
Preferred
  • Master’s degree student in market research, business administration, marketing, public health, medical/dental, economics or a related field
  • Knowledgeable about information resources and versed in analysis of market trends, competitor activity, financial reports, and legislative activity.
  • Understanding in the use of research to support sales, marketing, product development and business development, customer satisfaction and loyalty, and quality improvement.
  • Experience programming and conducting data analysis using in-house survey platforms such as Qualtrics or Survey Monkey.
  • Experience in working with statistical software such as SPSS or SAS.
 
Physical Demands
  • Requires overall light physical effort (up to 25lbs).
  • Manual dexterity and sitting is required in carrying out position own position responsibilities (i.e. use of personal computer).
  • Ability to travel or move about within and outside serviced facilities required.
  • Works remotely via video conference and collaboration applications.
