CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
·        Assist with research, strategic planning, communications, programmatic development and planning, grant writing, and day to day operations.
·        Development, planning, and delivery of SLSC related activities, projects, and special events.
·        Building relationships between the SLSC and external collaborators including other universities; local, state, and federal agencies; livestock producers and businesses; and industry representatives.
·        Grant writing and other applicable fundraising activities for the collaborative.
·        Represent the SLSC in various programs, projects, and collaborator events.
·        Conduct research and write up related applicable deliverables, including peer reviewed publications, white papers, and policy memoranda.
·        Provide recommendations to SLSC on ways to improve operations and internal processes.
·        Participate in brainstorms for research and strategy.
·        Assist in creating performance and activity recap reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
·        Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·        Experience with research, strategic planning, communications, programmatic development and planning, and grant writing.
·        Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work well with team and individually.
·        General knowledge of the livestock industry and sustainability. 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
·        An undergraduate, veterinary, or graduate CSU animal science or clinical science student who is available to continue working through Fall of 2021
·        GPA: 3.3 or above

Hourly Pay Rate : $15.00/hr.
