Refinery Operator

Do you have manufacturing, refining or casting experience? The Doe Run Company is seeking a Refinery Operator to form and cast lead, make oxide, and move finished product to meet customer specifications. This position is located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO near the Mark Twain National Forest.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Cast lead as part of a crew by running pig machine, ton caster, and billet machine.
  • Pour counterweights, skim lead products, and hook up lead pumps.
  • Operate forklift, bander, small crane and other equipment as needed to cast and move lead product.
  • Operate oxide machine to create lead oxide, includes weighing and changing bags.
  • Operate forklift and jockey truck in order to scale, identify, and load shipments of finished lead product.
  • Identify material correctly for casting, oxidization, warehousing, and shipment.
  • Perform inspections and ensure quality of lead and final product.
  • Complete paperwork and enter required information in applicable computer software.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • Manufacturing, refining or casting experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to obtain mobile equipment certification after hire (Doe Run will provide).
  • Able to obtain environmental safety and health rules and regulations training after hire (Doe Run will provide).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Skilled in the use of casting equipment preferred.
  • Safely operate all necessary equipment.
  • Minor maintenance in order to keep machines in time, change broken molds, change valves, change STAR feeders, and maintain feeder pipes.
  • Ability to monitor computer screens and operate controls.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear.
  • Regularly required to work near moving, mechanical parts, and be exposed to extreme heat & open flames.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, and vibration.
  • Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms, repetitive movement, and moving up and down from/to a sitting position on the floor.
  • Frequently requires grasping, pushing, driving, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Occasionally required to crawl, and climb or balance.
  • Occasionally requires sitting, talking, hearing, and feeling attributes of objects.
  • Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 100 pounds.
