Medical Assistant

We are currently searching for a full-time Medical Assistant, (we will train you to reach certification) to work in our very busy Ear Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Cosmetic Surgery and minimally invasive endoscopic brain surgery practices. The group consists of 8 head and neck surgeons and 1 physician assistant across five locations in West Los Angeles. Medical Assistants will rotate and get exposure to all locations. We are committed to providing the highest quality and most advanced care available.

Applicants will be interviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.

You would be entering in a training capacity for the first 6 months which would include thorough training to become proficient in all the skills necessary specifically including EPIC EMR training.
This job is targeted to students who have already completed their undergraduate studies with a minimum graduation date of May 2021. You must be able to work Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with intent to stay for at least 2 full years. It is a perfect first job for a candidate taking at least two gap years who wants to pursue a more advanced medical career (RN, NP, PA, MD).
Our ideal candidate will be willing to wear many hats, from performing some administrative duties, to clinical duties including taking medical histories and assisting providers during examinations and procedures. In addition, the role requires an individual with exceptional customer service skills, who is self-motivated, caring and compassionate with a positive attitude and has the desire to learn and grow with our team. The ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow will be key.

Some of the general responsibilities include the following:

-Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain patient information and document in patient's chart
-Assist providers in local procedures performed in the exam rooms
-Assist providers in exam rooms performing intakes, scribing and follow up treatments for patients.
-Provide instructions to patients as directed by providers
-Maintain exam rooms by stocking appropriate supplies and cleaning/sterilizing as necessary
-Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient, provider and pharmacy calls
-Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to providers
-Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, expired medications)
-All other responsibilities assigned by providers or practice administrator
