Archaeology Research Lab Senior Graduate Assistant
Job Description:
· Assist faculty member in descriptive lab analyses of archaeological materials, including chipped and ground stone, animal bone, pottery, sediment samples, etc.
· Computer data entry in word processing and spreadsheet software
· GIS mapping and spatial analysis
· Curation of archaeological artifacts
· Report writing
Role and Responsibilities:
· Assistant to faculty member in the Center for Mountain and Plains Archaeology
· Able to perform quality control and checks on their own work and perhaps other student employees
· Keep consistent work hours
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
· MA in Anthropology, Specialization in Archaeology
· Archaeology field school
· Demonstrated knowledge of GIS
· Demonstrated knowledge of archaeological lab methods
Preferred Skills:
· Lithic, ceramic, zooarchaeological lab analysis
· Extensive report writing
· Computer databases, basic MS-Office programs
· ArcGIS or other GIS applications
Pay Rate: $21
