Job Description and Responsibilities:


Peer Mentor
  • Attend Arrive Seminars to engage students, co-facilitate content for the session, facilitate discussions among students, and initiate team-building exercises and casual group discussions to build Arrive community. 
  • Support Arrive Virtual Seminars, engage in content and discussion questions with students, grade assignments.  
  • Actively work to form positive relationships with Arrive students, including scheduling and conducting individual, formal and informal check-ins with students. 
  • Track student attendance and follow-up with absent students. 
  • Plan and promote AAC social and cultural events. 
  • Refer students to appropriate AAC and campus resources. 
  • Attend weekly Peer Mentor staff meetings.
  • Facilitate one on one mentorship meetings with peers.

All Student Staff Positions at the AAC
  • Serve as a positive representation of the Academic Advancement Center, the Division of Academic Affairs, and Colorado State University.  
  • Willing to work 7-10 hours/week. 
  • Attend all student staff trainings and events. 
  • Attend Academic Advancement Center Events as required. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Required Skills:

  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level class standing.
  • Be an enrolled CSU student who is eligible for work-study.
  • Availability to work approximately 10 hours/ week.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Participant in the AAC, Key Communities, and/or Community for Excellence.
  • Have successfully completed the AAC Arrive Seminar



Important Position Details:


Hourly Pay Rate: $13.00/hr.
Number of Openings: 3
Start Date: As soon as filled.
