Energy Intern on Natural Gas Migration
Seeking a student to assist with a variety of research needs for the METEC research group.
Duties:
- Assist with field research on underground gas migration at the METEC research facility.
- Conduct analysis of gas migration using mathematical models of underground natural gas leakage from buried infrastructure
- Perform literature analysis and review
- Write reports
Essential Skills:
- Numerical modeling experience
- Knowledge of and ability to use MATLAB
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to conduct field research in a challenging environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of field/lab assistants
- Excellent communication skills
- Undergraduate and MS degree in Engineering and/or science related field. Degrees can vary widely.
Desired Skills:
- Background in natural gas industry, or desire to develop familiarity
- Demonstrated ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of field/lab assistants
We anticipate hiring one student to start as soon as possible between October 1 and October 7, 2021. Pay will range $13-15 per hour dependent on experience. We expect students to work 20 hours per week when CSU is in-session, and may ask/allow students to increase hours up to 40 hours/week (if work is available) when school is not in session (summer or break periods).
