Senior Assistant Caseworker, Receptionist (DCFS), Orem

The Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) Orem office is seeking a highly motivated individual with professional work experience in an office setting to fill a Senior Assistant Caseworker, Receptionist position. Principal Duties
A Senior Assistant Caseworker / Receptionist is a clerical position and serves as a resource to the professional child welfare social work staff on a Support Team by opening and closing the office daily, answering incoming phone calls, greeting walk-in customers, and directing callers and/or visitors to appropriate staff members and/or resources. They provide direct client services including: taking notes and minutes and distributing minutes from Staff meetings and Team meetings; collecting and scanning GRAMA paperwork for processing, editing and redaction of protected information; and handling communication with clients, attorneys, and regional committees to implement current laws and procedures.

They keep the office functioning smoothly and efficiently by also performing the following tasks:
  • Front desk receptionist
  • GRAMA requests 
  • Court notifications
  • Assisting with 24-hour notifications
  • Live Scan back up
  • Other office support duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate
The model candidate for this position is someone who:
  • Has professional work experience working in an office setting.
  • Is adept at dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Is skilled with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro to create and prepare documents.
  • Communicates effectively, clearly, and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Has great public relation skills.
  • Gives attention to small details for accuracy of information provided.
Preferences
  • Preference may be given to applicants with previous and/or current experience working for the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS).
  • Adobe Pro experience.

Physical Requirements 
  • Sedentary – typically, you will sit comfortably to perform the work; however, you may do some walking; standing; bending; carry light items; or drive an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.

  • You will be exposed to risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
