Apparel & Merchandising Research Assistant - 3D Body Scan Data Cleaning

Research Assistant for 3D Data Clean Up


Research Assistants assist faculty on real-world research projects. In this project, a student will assist the faculty in achieving the project goals that include processing 3D body scan data to be able to extract body measurement data.

This research position will take between 5-8 hours per week, but not to exceed 8 hours per week on average. Pay is $18 per hour. Hours are flexible. An 8-week commitment is required. Attend weekly planning meetings. Experience is not necessary.


Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Ambition and strong ability to take initiative;
  • Exemplary collaboration skills - the ability to work on a team to achieve the communal goals;
  • Must be able to commit to at least 8 weeks and work at least 5 hours per week;
  • 3D design skills - preference for CLO3D, MeshMixer, and/or Fusion 360.
  • Competency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.







Job Requirements/Expectations

In this role, the research assistant will:
  • Attend weekly planning meetings. PA
  • Manage the planning and analysis of 3D body scan data. TW, C, CT/PS







The context for this specific project

The larger goal of this project is that the student will assist faculty with is preparing 3D scan data for data analysis. This project does not include the forthcoming data analysis. This aim will be executed through computer work using a variety of 3D software including Athroscan and MeshMixer.
