Physical Design Engineer Intern Summer 2022
Overview:
The Physical Design Intern will directly assist a Product Development Team with a wide range of projects related to IC physical design which may include design entry, design rule checking and parameter extraction.
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to apply skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. The candidate will also have opportunities to network and work across multiple disciplines within the business in a fast-paced and growing Space Systems organization.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the design team to perform nano-structure design and design verification
- Assist in the implementation of custom analog and digital circuit elements for next generation non-volatile memory product
- Attend daily standups and participate in SCRUM development methodology
- Utilizes cadence design tools for the creation of full-custom integrated circuits, circuit simulations, custom layouts and physical verifications
- Assist in the development of nanostructure designs which correspond to the patterns of metal, oxide, or semiconductor layers that make up the components of an integrated circuit
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Currently enrolled in and will be a returning student in the Fall working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- High school diploma
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Eligibility for this position includes being a U.S. Person. Permenant residency acceptable
Preferred:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Linux
- Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office™ products - Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, Project.
The start of the range is $20 per hour and goes up based on experience
