The Main Responsibilities

As a NCC and BCM Automation intern in our North American Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our Automation and Orchestration Team to utilize programmatic methods to help advance our network orchestration by utilizing UIPath and Itential. Tasks during the 10 weeks will work with large amounts of data gathered and require you to make business recommendations from insights gained by utilizing data analysis tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Splunk and SQL. You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions, learn quickly, and work in a team environment. Other tasks may include:
•   Command, communicate, and coordinate to fix unplanned maintenance 
•   Assist with the processing of over 4,000 planned network services request each month
•   Work to automate system issues facing the team currently
•   Work to improve customer experience 
•   Tracking and updating the progress of services 
 

What We Look For in a Candidate

•   Education Requirements 
o   Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university- rising senior or masters level status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – May 2023.
o   Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Data Science, MIS, CIS, or a related field.
•   Proficiency or understanding of:
o   Microsoft Suites 
o   PowerBI, Tableau, and SQL
o   R
•   Professional Attributes 
o   Strong drive for results/solutions and taking initiative to resolve problems
o   Ability to take directions
o   Intrinsically motivated 
o   Analytical and curious mind
o   Interest in technology and automation 
o   Ability to be resourceful and adaptable- independently AND in a team environment 
o   Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
o   Strong written and verbal communication skills

•   Work Setting
o   Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield, CO, Norcross, GA, or Remote/Work From Home
o   Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
o   Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
o   US work authorization
