Clinical Research Coordinator - Non-invasive Neuromodulation Research

If you are looking for a part-time role in research, join Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research (PAVIR) and Dr. Madore's lab as a Clinical Research Coordinator to support research related to non-invasive neuromodulation, which is one of the fastest growing areas of psychiatric inquiry!

You will work with Dr. Michelle Madore, the Principal Investigator on two multi-site funded studies looking at neuroimaging biomarkers of treatment response to TMS in treatment-resistant depression. Dr. Madore is also a Clinical Assistant Professor (Affiliated) at Stanford University School of Medicine's Department in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

As a Research Coordinator, you will work with patients at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, established as the site of the nation's second largest research program conducted among the VA Hospitals. Here Dr Madore serves as the Director of the National Clinical Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Program.

This a 20 hours/week part-time position, located in Palo Alto, CA. You will be eligible for sick leave, 401(k) with a fully vested 6% company match and 3% profit share, a wellness program, commuter benefits, and professional development training.

RESEARCH COORDINATOR'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will consent participants, coordinate and manage all daily activities of the study, recruit and screen potential subjects, manage study participants, collect data, and perform neurocognitive and symptom checklist assessments.

YOU WILL ALSO BE INVOLVED IN:

  • Serving as a liaison between the local study site and coordinating site;
  • Coordinating outreach efforts within the facility and Community Based Outpatient Clinics to enhance recruitment activities;
  • Assisting in writing research study abstracts, protocols for any approved sub-pilot(s) of the study;
  • Reviewing scientific publications regarding study;
  • Other research related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
  • At least 1 year of related experience, including working in a mental health field or research environment;
  • Preferred: Master's degree and 2 years or more of related experience, including cognitive and psychological testing.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding clinical studies;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of database management;
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate and follow through on multiple tasks;
  • Ability to present research milestones in conferences and meetings.
