Honors Program - Student Research Assistant
The University Honors Program is looking for student research assistants to support the research goals of Honors Program faculty. Research assistants will be asked to do a wide variety of tasks including meeting with faculty researcher, seeking out community information via the internet and the library databases, newspapers, and community organizations. This position can be completed virtually during and after regular business hours. This opportunity will offer valuable professional experiences and skills for many future career goals.
Responsibilities include:
· Meeting with faculty researcher as needed
· Seeking out required information via internet, database, and community resources
· Relaying independent ideas to faculty researcher as a part of the project guidelines
· Documenting required information in a timely manner.
· Assisting faculty with copies and/or scanning documents.
· Monitor project email, answering some queries and forwarding as appropriate.
· Projects as assigned.
Required Skills:
· Be knowledgeable about community resources in Fort Collins
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong troubleshooting skills, specifically regarding information retrieval.
· Exercises a high degree of professionalism.
· Demonstrates timeliness and accountability.
· Knowledge of Internet browsing techniques
· Knowledge of MS Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams
· Knowledge of the Colorado State University library databases.
Preferred Skills (but not required):
· Preference will be given to applicants who are current students within the Honors Program.
Available Openings: 5
Hours: variable
Start Date: January 2022
Hourly Rate: $14.00 an hour
