Marketing & Special Projects Analyst Fellow

Length: Term of position is 47 weeks; full-time 40 hours/week
Location: Duty station is flexible, but should be located within the Midwest Region: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Dakota or North Dakota.
Living Allowance: $600/week
AmeriCorps Award: Position is eligible for an AmeriCorps education award upon successful completion of the program. Value of education award is $6,345 (pre-tax).
Start Date: February 2022

Position Details:
Stewards Individual Placements (SIP) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. SIP, in partnership with the National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance (RTCA) Program, is seeking a Marketing & Special Projects Analyst Fellow who will serve the Midwest Region.
 
The RTCA Program’s national network of conservation and recreation planning staff partners with community groups, non-profits, tribes, and state and local governments to plan and design trails and parks, conserve and improve access to rivers, protect special places, and create recreation opportunities. The selected Fellow will assist the RTCA Program Leader and staff/partners in data gathering, planning analysis, marketing plans, business tracking matrix creation, public outreach, and plan creation for park and trail master plans, training sessions, and implementation and strategic plans. The efforts related to the Fellow's work will lead to connecting communities to natural resources and recreation resources, working with conservation partners outside of the NPS to develop new partnerships.
 

Position Responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate with Program Leader and project partners to gather data from existing sources for planning documents, such as demographic data, state and county plans and policies, grant sources and requirements. 
  • Assist staff in data analysis, such as writing summaries of data, and creating alternative proposals for partner consideration.
  • Participate in community outreach activities, such as public events, planning workshops, and community meetings. Assist in the preparation of outreach materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and printed displays.
  • Assist in writing and graphics creation for plans. Depending on skills of selected Fellow, use publication software (InDesign, or Publisher) to lay out publications such as brochures, plan summaries, or plans.
  • Graphic Design of various outreach materials. Organization of program action goals and need matrix systems to track program accomplishments.
  • Assists with Program Cooperative Agreements and business tracking matrix.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in InDesign, writing and graphic/marketing techniques
 
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework in environmental planning, geography, literature, business, marketing, social sciences, education, equity and inclusion
  • Strong desire to connect diverse communities to nature
  • Knowledge of contemporary marketing strategies
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of special projects working with a wide range of professionals
