JOB TITLE: Geologic Resources Inventory Student Intern
POSITION SUMMARY: To assist the Geologic Resources Inventory (GRI program with producing digital geologic-GIS map and related data, as well as producing cartographic derivative published maps.
ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: The Geologic Resources Inventory (GRI) program, a cooperative program between the CSU Department of Geosciences and the Geologic Resources Division (GRD) of the National Park Service. The program is a partnership between the two entities with program goals to produce geologic information, digital geologic datasets (maps), geologic reports and related geologic information, to assist park managers in management decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The intern will assist GRI program in producing digital geologic-GIS maps, as well as cartographic maps. The intern will perform also self-quality control of files and documents produced by them.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required skillset: General geologic knowledge, a degree of familiarity with geologic maps, good working knowledge of Microsoft’s Windows operating system, and good file management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with ArcGIS software and strong communication skills.
PAY RATE: $14.00-$16.00/hour, depending on experience.
