Undergraduate Learning Assistant in Microbiology, Immunology & Pathology

Learning Assistants for Microbiology
We are looking to recruit 10 undergraduate students to serve as Learning Assistants in our Microbiology courses. Students will perform a variety of duties (see below for a list) as well as help faculty engage with students in peer-to-peer learning. Additionally, LAs will be provided with trainings and seminars on Inclusive Pedagogy to help learn skills and strategies to use in the classroom to engage all students. 
 
Sample job duties include:
·     Attend inclusive pedagogy trainings/ seminars
·     Hold weekly office hours
·     Liaison between students and professor
·     Creation of active learning activities
·     Host review sessions
·     Grading
·     Developing & presenting a lecture
·     Assist in set-up for lab activities
·     Attend weekly LA/TA meetings
 
Seeking enthusiastic, supportive, and creative students that want to assist other students in gaining knowledge and understanding in our Microbiology classes: VBMS100, MIP150, LIFE206, MIP250, MIP260, MIP300, MIP302, MIP342, MIP343, MIP351, MIP352, MIP401, MIP420, MIP425, MIP450 (underlined classes need multiple LAs). You must have taken and passed the course you want to serve as LA for with a B or better to apply.
