One Health Institute Student Researcher

·      This project is sponsored by the CSU One Health Institute and The City of Fort Collins Nature in the City team. This project will consist of creating criteria that will be used by city representative to score/rate nature and natural areas throughout Fort Collins. Final deliverables include:
o   Criteria to evaluate “natural” areas and supporting materials on how arrived at decision  
o   Map of areas evaluated with scorecard  
o   Literature review (report) of criteria  
  • What works  
  • What doesn’t work  
  • Other considerations  
The ideal candidate:
·      Seeking a self-motivated, multi-tasking, organized, professional student employee who possesses superior verbal and written communication skills. 
·      Experience in science communications preferred including social media management, content creation, science writing, etc.
·      Experience in scientific writing including literature review
·      Professional interest in One Health or other transdisciplinary work
·      Organized and attentive to detail
·      Ability to work collaboratively with large and diverse teams
·      Independent and able to self-start
·      May work up to 20 hrs/week depending on projects, hours flexible
·      Must be willing to work during summer with flexibility for school and other scheduling needs
·      Must have participated in the One Healthy City Course (listed as PBHL692A)
·      Must be a graduate or professional student
Job Duties/Responsibilities: Include the scope of the responsibilities required and Identify the associated career competency (please see the 10 CSU Career Competencies on page 2). Example:
·      Work independently and efficiently. PA
·      Conduct interdisciplinary literature review with assistance from One Health staff and educational consultants. V, WC, TW, CT/PS
·      Write and publish One Health content through a variety of communications mediums, including blogs, news stories, videos, podcasts, and peer-reviewed pieces DP, WC, C 
·      Assist with primary research as needed for One Health teams in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research settings. CT/PS
·      Assist with presentation of materials to representative from the City of Fort Collins
