The North Central Region Office of the California Department of Water Resources is seeking a dedicated individual to apply geographic and scientific methods to riverbed monitoring and analysis. This position will allow you to explore unique aquatic landscapes in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta with advanced sonar equipment, and boats of all sizes. The insights we gain help solve complex water management problems across Northern California. If you are passionate about solving challenging problems, working outdoors, and discovering what lurks in the deep, this job may be for you.

This position is a permanent, 75 percent of full time, and offers a mix of telework, office, and fieldwork opportunities. The salary is $3,109.00 to $5,945.00 per month depending on the level of experience and education.

Education Requirement: Possession of a bachelor's or advanced degree with a major in a biological, chemical, physical, or environmental science, soil science, water science, hydrology, agronomy, natural resource science, environmental or public health, physical geography, or a closely related scientific discipline. (Admission to a masters or doctoral degree program in a biological, chemical, physical, or environmental science, soil science, water science, hydrology, agronomy, natural resource science, environmental or public health, physical geography, or a closely related scientific discipline shall be considered to meet these education qualifications.)
