Staff Services Analyst (Human Resorces Analyst)

The Office of the State Public Defender (OSPD) is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Staff Services Analyst (SSA) to join our Human Resources (HR) team. Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, (Human Resources Manager), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) serves as a personnel consultant by performing average difficulty personnel assignments. The incumbent works in close partnership with the Human Resources Manager or subject matter experts and performs the less complex Classification and Pay items including but not limited to: formulation of procedures and program alternatives and recommendations in the areas of Exams, Certification, Classification and Compensation, Position Control, Workers’ Compensation, Performance Management, Training and Special Projects. Assists with interpreting and applying a wide variety of personnel laws, rules, policies, and processes in the performance of these functions. This position requires the incumbent to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and management; maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance; be detail-oriented; maintain confidentiality; exercise a high degree of initiative and good judgment. Occasional travel may be required.
