PAY RANGE: $19.00 - $22.00
 
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)

Intern Description:
 
This position will report to the Sr. Manager Metro Service Centers, East Region. The position will support the Dodson Operations and Dodson C&M Line Departments’ daily operations and long term planning initiatives.
 
Job tasks include but not limited to:
·        Coordinate design, construction, maintenance and operation of the transmission and distribution systems, including the scheduling of materials and labor for specific projects
·        Participate in storm and outage restoration efforts

·        Work directly with residential, commercial, and industrial customers on reliability and system improvement projects
·        Exposure to managing a unionized work force and working within the negotiated collective bargaining agreement, including participation in labor management meetings, grievance meetings, etc.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university or technical program in one of the following or a related technical field: Maintenance & Reliability Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Science. Other majors may be considered if interest is shown in field project management or labor relations. Pursuit of a leadership certificate is preferred.
 
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
·        Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide variety of customers and company personnel.
·        Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently and effectively in high stress environment.
·        Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work across departmental lines.
·        Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and databases preferred.
·        Must maintain a high level of professionalism at all times and possess a willingness to learn and solve problems with employees at all levels of the organization.
 
Working Conditions:
Conditions will vary from office to field environments. Must be able to work additional hours on short notice. Some travel may be required.
