Entertainment Manager

The Entertainment Manager is responsible for successfully delivering entertainment events for resort guests. In addition, they handle the entertainment department’s programming, administrative, and people management aspects. It requires someone with a passion for melding the cultures of an all-season mountain resort with the live entertainment industry. Venues included, but not limited to, the RE Holding Pavilion, Sun Valley Opera House, après ski at base lodges, and restaurants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, Hires, Trains, Schedules, Evaluates, and supervises all pavilion staff, in-resort musicians, and contracted acts.
  • Contracts all events not working directly with Sun Valley sales department.
  • Assists with general office operation, including bookings, venue rentals, and meeting with contracted parties.
  • Assists with facility operations, including ticketing, front of the house, and bars, and has a general knowledge of all aspects of the Pavilion.
  • Provides consistent, high-quality customer service and responds to feedback and concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Works as a team with the Recreation Director, maintenance personnel, sales, grounds staff, all aspects of resort management, and all special groups to ensure coordination of programs and facilities.
  • Ensures the facility’s safety, quality, cleanliness & consistency, and programs.

 Requirements:
  • Experience with technical equipment such as sound systems, lighting, rigging, staging, lift operation, etc. 
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with direct contact customer service environment
  • Ability to obtain, possess and maintain a valid Idaho driver’s license.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience as a venue manager.
  • Previous experience as an Entertainment Manager.
  • Previous experience managing revenues and expenditures for programs, facilities, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of show production.

Work Environment:
  • Entertainment venue, working closely with other departments; frequent interruptions
  •  Examples of the work schedule include but are not limited to: day time, evening, weekend hours & holidays.

Competency: 
  • Time management skills; must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Office Skills – working knowledge of Word, Excel, Office, and Eventbrite software. Communication – good written and verbal skills.
  • Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; gives and welcomes feedback while contributing to building a positive team spirit.
  • The candidate should be a self-starter, organized, positive, resourceful, have a proven focus on the broad scope and opportunity, and can be firm but gracious at the same time.
