Student lab assistant-Gentry-Weeks
We are looking for a self-motivated student researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a desire to learn lab procedures, work with other students, and appreciate the importance of maintaining a clean lab and sterile materials. You must be responsible, prompt, reliable, and able to multi-task. Attention to detail and maintenance of an accurate updated lab notebook is essential. Work study is required. The position is up to 10 hours per week; pay rate is $15 per hour. Duties include: providing clean and sterile glassware and materials, helping maintain lab resources, and assisting lab members with experiments as needed, including preparing media and buffers, isolation of DNA, preparation of agarose gels, inoculating bacterial cultures. Completion or current enrollment in MIP150 'Introduction to Research Methods' is preferred.
