Sustainability & Environmental Internship (Unpaid / Remote)

*Fully remote, unpaid internship.

Overview:
Great opportunity to work directly with the founders of a sustainability and environmental company with exposure to experiences of an early-stage company. We are looking for an unpaid intern looking to engage tasks related to sustainability, environmental and climate change. This role has flexible time commitment which allows you spare time for other commitments, whether it’s school or other professional opportunities.

Act in supportive role to collect various industries’ and companies’ environmental policies, contacts and annual disclosure submission deadlines. You will also research and document industry trends along with related company and governmental policies. The Earthara team will be available to provide help and mentorship along the way.

Responsibilities & Learning Outcomes:
  • Research and document existing and proposed company policies required by their supply chain, vendors, or portfolio companies related the submission of sustainability reports and disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Identify compliance mandates of specified organizations and the related deadline for submission of sustainability disclosures by their supply chain vendors (e.g. A large Fortune-500 retailers’ requirements and deadlines for its suppliers to disclose their sustainability & environmental status)
  • Research and report updates based on the latest industry trends and news, which may be shared on the company’s website and/or its social media channels.
  • Other research tasks to be discussed with the team based on the intern’s interests.

You are:
  • Pursuing a degree in environmental policy, sustainability studies, communication or journalism, economics, business management or related field.
  • Eagerness to learn and be comfortable with the environment of an early-stage company.
  • Strong research, writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Comfortable interning remotely

Bonus but not required:
  • Familiarity or interest in climate policy, GHG accounting, GHG quantification methods, supply chain management, or related topics

Duration of Internship & Compensation:
  • Part-time role with 5-15 hours per week for 3-months.
  • Commitment hours, as well as start and end dates are flexible based on candidate’s availability.
  • This is an Unpaid internship.

Location:
  • This is a remote-based internship.
  • We are a fully remote company and work extremely efficiently across multiple time zones.
