Regional Recreation Intern

DUTIES:
  • Create digital and exhibit-style educational content for recreation activities on public lands
  • Assist with large scale outreach events such as Discover Nature Field Days
  • Dedicate ample opportunities to work with staff in other regions of the state and across different branches to increase knowledge of the department and provide networking
  • Shadow and assist with a variety of resource management initiatives
  • Work with a team of diverse staff to draft ideas on how to expand recreation opportunities on conservation land
  • Collaborate with community conservation team staff to influence efforts and develop framework improvements 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Students are eligible for the program when they meet the following criteria: 
  • Undergraduate student at an accredited university/college in good standing. Students who will be graduating before the internship begins are not eligible.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on 4.0 scale is desirable.
  • Preference will be given to students who have completed at least 45 credit hours.
  • Pursuing a degree in outdoor recreation, natural resources, public engagement, or a related field.
