Human Resources Intern

Hiring Range: $16.18 - $17.19 per hour

Work Schedule: Generally, 20 - 28 hours per week – typically between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; may include nights or weekends for events and programs, as scheduled, Limited Term
 
NATURE OF WORK
As an intern within the Human Resources Department, the individual will perform a variety of administrative and technical support duties related to Human Resources for the Town of Windsor.
To be successful as an HR Intern, this individual should keep abreast of the latest developments in labor legislation to determine how Town HR policies may be affected. Ultimately, an outstanding HR Intern should be detail-oriented and able to demonstrate excellent administrative and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The individual in the Human Resources Intern role is assigned specific assignments, job duties, scope, responsibility, roles, and requirements as determined by the Town, department, division, and pursuant to laws, regulation, and practices. Individuals in this position must be able to successfully perform, be responsible for, and/or assist in the fulfillment of many job functions and duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive:
  1. Perform administrative tasks such as file organization, document tracking and record keeping.
  2. Updating internal databases with new employee information.
  3. Assist with the recruitment activities to include the posting of positions, tracking applications, preparing for interviews and on-boarding activities.
  4. May attend job fairs and/or participate in organizing Town events, as needed.
  5. Review and distribute Town policies in digital formats or hard copies.
  6. Supports the HR team with data entry and projects.
  7. Creates and maintains resource guides.
  8. Refers all employee relation issues and concerns to HR Director/Manager and provides accurate documentation.
  9. Assist with weekly invoice batches for the Human Resources Department.
  10. Assures direction and confidentiality of employee concerns, records, information, and communications.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ATS and/or resume databases is preferred.
  • Experience with MS office.
  • Good understanding of full-cycle recruiting.
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws.
  • Studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field is desired.
  
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
  • Must have a current Colorado Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one upon hire, that meets the Town of Windsor’s standards
