Network Engineering Intern (Summer 2023, Remote)

About the Role
CrowdStrike is looking for talented, self-motivated university students for internships with our Network Engineering team. You will be working alongside our engineers on large-scale hybrid cloud networks. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining the reliability and scalability of our production network. You will develop tools to improve management and observability of our network.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist in operating multi-region, multi-vendor production network
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and to improve our network observability
  • Contribute to network documentation (diagrams, MOPs, best practices)
  • Partner with our network engineers to execute various network deployment projects

What You Need
  • Actively pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
  • Able to independently analyze problems and contribute to solutions to resolve the issues
  • Solid understanding of data networking principles and protocols (OSI model, subnetting, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Proficient in Linux systems and scripting language (Bash, Python, Go)
  • Understand Git workflows, CI/CD concepts, and how it can be applied to network automation and testing framework

Bonus points if you have
  • Experience in network deployment and support
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Network certification, such as CCNA, JNCIA
  • Familiar with event streaming platforms and monitoring tools
  • Familiar with virtualization and container platforms
