Director of Technology

Juab School District has an opening for the Director of Technology. This position will begin June, 2023. This is a full-time 12 month position. Accepting applications until March 31, 2023.
 
Job Title: Technology Director for School District
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technology director to oversee the development and implementation of technology initiatives within our school district. The technology director will work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that our technology infrastructure and systems support the academic and administrative goals of our district.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement technology plans and policies that align with the strategic goals of the school district
  • Provides leadership for short and long-range planning for all technology initiatives: vision, goals, program objectives/strategies/activities, infrastructure, staffing, training, evaluation, budgeting, and collaboration with others.
  • Ensure that the district's technology infrastructure and systems are secure, reliable, and up-to-date
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of technology tools and resources into the curriculum and instructional practices of the district
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff to effectively use technology in the classroom and in administrative tasks
  • Develop and maintain a budget for the technology department and oversee the procurement of hardware, software, and other technology resources
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate technology into administrative processes such as student data management, transportation, and food services
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and recommend new solutions that will benefit the district
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to technology and data security
  • Manage a team of technology professionals, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in a leadership role in technology, preferably in an educational setting
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of implementing successful technology initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking technologies, and the ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of educational technology trends and best practices, including experience with learning management systems, student information systems, and assessment tools
  • Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations, such as FERPA and COPPA
  • Experience managing a team of technology professionals
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
