Weekly Work Schedule Summer Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm.

2024 ALCIVIA Internship Program Dates: May 20, 2024 through August 16, 2024.

  • There is the potential to start early to work part-time hours during the school year or work into the fall.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Animal Nutrition Food Safety Quality Intern would support the review and update of the Food Safety Plans for feed manufacturing including developing flow diagrams, risk assessments and related standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Intern will be given first-hand experience and have a broad overview of all elements of feed production from ingredient receiving, manufacturing, and shipping. The Intern will work hand-in-hand with our Operations and Safety Teams on a variety of tasks, both in an office setting and outside in the facility. 

  • Update documents related to the Food Safety Plan including programs, forms, and SOPs to ensure prevention of cross contamination risk and operational efficiencies
  • Assist with development and delivery of training as well as implementation of the food safety programs including follow up verification that desired results are being achieved
  • Learn how to conduct root cause analysis followed by corrective and preventive actions on production and customer events
  • Understand and utilize our human safety and feed safety programs while on the job
  • Support cross-divisional collaboration whenever possible
  • Help out in other areas of the business as bandwidth allows
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Working toward Bachelors or Associates Degree in Agriculture or Safety related fields
  • Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to work
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
