2024 Summer Internships – Renewable Development 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

As an intern at Invenergy, you will have the opportunity to: 

Expand your knowledge and skills while gaining hands-on professional experience 

Engage with leaders throughout the organization and learn about the clean energy industry through weekly lunch-and-learns. 

Visit our nearby power plants: Grand Ridge Energy Center and Nelson Energy Center 

Spend a day giving back to the community with our ‘Volunteer Time Off’ program 

Have lunch with our CEO and Founder, Michael Polsky 

Attend a networking mixer to learn more about and engage with representatives from our various affinity groups (Women’s Network, LGBTQ+, Black & Brown, Veteran’s Network, & more!) 

Explore Chicago with your fellow interns 

Our program takes place from June – August lasting for 10-12 weeks 

 

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP 

Renewable Development: Our Renewable Development team takes charge on identifying opportunities for new wind and solar projects and advancing them through the development process.  Renewable Development is integral in all stages of the development of a power plant including site identification, permitting, establishing interconnection positions and community engagement.  As an intern in Renewable Development, you’ll expand your organizational, interpersonal and writing skills to support Invenergy’s development efforts. 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and May 2025. 

Majoring in a business, engineering, or related discipline. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.   

Interest in the renewable energy or clean energy sector. 

Comfortable working in an amorphous environment.
