CSU’s Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering is at the forefront of solutions for such global challenges as water, health, energy and the environment through innovative and dedicated teaching, research, outreach. The college’s communications team uses social and digital media, web, video, public relations, and community outreach to tell the college’s stories.
The college is looking for a dynamic student to serve as a Social and Digital Media intern for the summer with the ability to extend into the school year.
The Social and Digital Media intern will gain an overarching understanding of the college and university initiatives by telling branded stories through a variety of social and digital communications channels.
Intern can expect to:
Assist in the daily creation of social media content, including (but not limited to):
o Instagram, Facebook and Twitter content curation and engagement
o Performance monitoring and analyzing analytics
o Creating photos, graphics and short videos
· Engage with audiences on college social media channels
· Keep current with the latest trends and strategies in social media
· Ensure college and university image and brand is communicated consistently and appropriately on social and digital channels
· Serve on the university-wide student intern social media committee
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
The successful applicant will be a current CSU student and will demonstrate the following characteristics:
o Strong knowledge of various social media platforms
o Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign)
o Experience creating content for branded social media accounts is preferred
o Graphic design, photography and videography experience is preferred
o Writing experience is preferred
o Passion for the college and/or CSU community and a willingness to foster the growth of that community through use of social media platforms
o Willingness to perform as part of a team while possessing a strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy, collaboration and high-quality results
o Dedication to professional standards while maintaining a creative spirit and a sense of fun
o Ability to work with minimal direction and produce quality results in an efficient manner
Start date: May 13, 2024. This internship is for summer 2024 with the likelihood of extension into the full school year.
Preferred qualifications: Strong preference for a current CSU Engineering student, a journalism and/or marketing student.
Hours: 5-8 hours each week; flexible schedule.

Salary information: Students in this position may be paid between $13.65 and $15 per hour depending on experience.
