Summer '24 Engineering Success Center Front Desk Coordinator

***TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE for the summer. No experience necessary. Training will be provided.*** Salary = $15/hr.

An Engineering Success Center (ESC) employee is part of a team that represents the Walter Scott College of Engineering (WSCOE) and is often the first point of contact for future engineering students and their families. People come in to ask questions regarding locations, events, information, and other people connected to our engineering program. It is the ESC Front Desk Coordinator’s job to answer these questions or direct them to someone who can. Team members also support the ESC office regarding engineering student success. Areas of support include recruitment activities (including new student orientation, academic advising, diversity programs, scholarships, and career readiness.

Types of duties performed:

  • Assist prospective and current engineering students, engineering staff, parents,  through email, or telephone by providing them with information or directing them to the best resources.
  • Create and edit documents using a variety of desktop and online software.
  • Create, upload, and monitor informational slides for the Engineering TV screens
  • Take inventory of office supplies, manage technology peripherals, assist others with technology, file management, process incoming packages, respond to emails and a myriad of other non-specific duties.

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work scheduled hours when the office is open:  Monday - Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm through the summer.
  • Must be willing to receive training in advance of start date and will be compensated for this time.
  • Must be willing to abide by ASA Department Code of Conduct, the ASA Dress Code and the Front Desk Code of Conduct.
  • Must attend mandatory meetings and trainings
  • Undergraduate engineering students required
