Overview

Natural Resources is looking for a Trail Crew Worker TEMP to join our team!

Our mission is to establish, protect, and manage significant regional parks and open lands providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities and stewardship of natural resource values. This is a temporary position. This position may work some weekends. 

 

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Constructs and maintains trails including cleaning drainage structures, clearing corridors, removing berm, filling in erosion, moving rocks, removing down trees, outsloping tread, and other trail-related tasks.
  • Constructs related structures such as retaining walls, stairs, fences, and safety railings.
  • Leads and guides volunteer groups in proper trail maintenance and construction tasks.
  • Assists in a variety of natural resource management projects.
  • Operates and maintains equipment used in the performance of assigned tasks including all-terrain vehicles, four-wheel drive vehicles, and tractors with associated implements, chain saws, and hand and power tools.
  • Installs signs and assists with landscape and re-vegetation projects.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

  • Learn the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in trail maintenance and construction including walk-behind track loaders.
  • Use trail building techniques including water bars, switchbacks, rock walls, and related structures.
  • Have experience in construction.
  • Have knowledge of landscaping techniques.
  • Operate power and hand tools in construction and maintenance projects.
  • Use safe work practices and procedures.

 

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.

Supplemental Information
