Development Student Coordinator - College of Health and Human Sciences (Pay Range in Details)

The pay range for this position is $16.00- $17.50/hr. 

The Development team for the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) is seeking a Development Student Coordinator. The CHHS Development Student Coordinator will assist the team with administrative support, scholarship processes, data-entry, donor thank you letters, stewardship, events and other engagement efforts in support of college fundraising activities.

What You’ll Be Doing 

General Office Support and Administrative Duties - DP, CT/PS

  • Weekly Acknowledgements process – pull weekly gift report and track spreadsheet for donor thank you messages 
  • Processing Expense Receipts
  • Development Budget Support – track weekly development expenses and reconcile them against expense reports
  • Data Entry and Reporting Projects from our CRM database, Ascend, including entering contact reports, coding projects, and entering alumni/donor updates
  • Pull donor birthdays on a monthly basis 
  • Assistance with mail projects (ex. mailing cards, assisting with mail merges, formatting letters, etc.) 
  • Organize collateral materials for development team trips and donor visits 
  • Experience with survey creation (preference for Qualtrics and Microsoft Forms)
  • Help create stewardship reports (donor impact reports) 
  • Comb through CSU Alumni Association stories and publications on a regular basis and highlight CHHS alums and share those names with Development staff ‘
  • Scheduling meetings for and/or with team members

Scholarship Administration PA, V/WC

  • Data entry – update scholarship criteria, dollar amounts, etc. 
  • Assist with annual scholarship renewals 
  • Design scholarship flyers 
  • Proofing and editing student thank you letters to donors 
  • Supporting the Scholarship Selection Process

Aid in College Level Events - GC, CT/PS, DP, V/WC, CD, IT, C, L

  • Help with annual event planning and preparation 
  • Preparing nametags, materials, gifts
  • Space set up/break down
  • Event script support 
  • “Week and Day of” Event assistance – greeting guests, passing out name tags, chatting with attendees, etc. 
  • Customer service mindset/orientation  

Gift Administration - CT/PS, PA

  • Support for processing Gifts in Kind 
  • Process incoming cash donations 

Budget Tracking-CT/PS, PA

  • Track all development spending on budget spreadsheet
  • Reconcile the budget with monthly expense reports
  • Inform team when approaching spending limits
  • Meet quarterly with CHHS Executive Director of Operations

Student Lead-L,C, CD, CT/PS, V/WC

  • Assist in training other Development Student Coordinators for CHHS
  • Assist college staff members on events and be the lead student on-site, providing guidance for other students assisting with set up and the day of the event

 Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities
  • Customer service mindset 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work to maximize productivity, and respond effectively to change

  • Must be willing to work fall and spring semester, some summer hours preferred
  • This is a work‐study position; all applicants must be eligible for work‐study to apply
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address upcoming assignments
  • Understand the importance of cultivating and maintaining donor relationships and confidentiality
  • Excellent ability to promote a culture of support and inclusion to students, staff, faculty, and donors, and work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
  • Ability to exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, self-motivation, and discretion
  • Ability to assist with design, writing and communication from and on behalf of CHHS development team
  • Experience using Qualtrics and Microsoft Forms

Additional Job Details 

  • Pay rate: $16.00 - $16.50/hr for undergraduate students; $16.00-$17.50/hr for graduate students. UA student pay rates are commensurate with class standing and previous experience
