The Multicultural Undergraduate Research Art and Leadership Symposium (MURALS) reaches out to students in various disciplines and exposes them to various undergraduate research opportunities. The M.E. team will serve in an ambassador capacity where undergraduate students will promote MURALS amongst their peers and encourage them to be part of this educational opportunity that will enhance their academic endeavors.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): 

Promotion and marketing of MURALS through RAM Summer Orientation sessions (includes tabling & presentation session)  

Facilitate MURALS informational sessions 

Provide support for event planning and coordination, including logistics, vendor communication, and day-of event support for United in STEMM, MURALS, and L.E.A.D. Conference 

Booking rooms through the LSC or Mary Ontiveros House 

Coordinating with outside entities to attend events 

Communication with Media & Marketing specialist to develop recruitment materials 

Track student participation by attending events & running check-in 

Various physical duties include item sorting, packing, and moving from event location to the office (will have trollies provided) 

Digital filing, event uploads, and email communications 

 

Requirements: 

  • 2.5 Cumulative GPA at time of application
  • Able to work Summer to Spring (an entre Academic Year)
  • Experience working with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working in an information-providing capacity and presenting to groups
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share social media content (original text, images, video or HTML) that
  • Able to build meaningful connections and encourages community members to get involved
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of MURALS
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Principles of Community
  • It is required that you attend ALL OIE Student Staff training beginning August 12 – 16th

 

Preferred Skills/ Experiences: 

  • Experience as a past participant in MURALS (Multicultural Undergraduate Research Art & Leadership Symposium)
  • Strong proficiency in RamLink
  • Solid understanding of Design Literacy principles
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects forward
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take instruction from written documentation or verbal address
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with Colorado State University and its campus community is a plus!
