Social Media Coordinator – Office of the President

 

Job Description: 

Seeking an organized, detail-oriented student employee who possesses excellent creative, analytical and communication skills to support the social media efforts of the Office of the President. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strict level of confidentiality in all interactions
  • Communicate effectively with members of the Office of the President and Marketing and Communications Social and Digital Media team to accomplish common goals and complete action items in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure that the Office of the President, University image and brand is communicated consistently and appropriately on social and digital channels
  • Assist in the daily creation of social media content, including (but not limited to):
    • Create written posts, photos, graphics, and short videos optimized for various social media platforms
  • Assist with analytics collection and project management tasks
  • Attend weekly meetings
  • Attend events to create content for various channels (and sometimes working outside of normal business hours)
  • Be up to date with the latest trends and strategies in social media
  • Contribute to the University Marketing and Communications Social and Digital Media blog
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time CSU student for the duration of the assignment. Candidates must have demonstrated skills in one or more of the following: social media, photography, videography, graphic design, writing, project management or analytics.

  • Strong knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Graphic design, photography, and/or videography experience
  • Knowledge of tools similar to Adobe Creative Suite, Airtable and Google Sheets
  • Demonstrated writing experience, especially knowledge of AP Style
  • Passion for the Colorado State community and a willingness to foster the growth of that community through use of social media platforms
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and produce quality results in an efficient manner
  • Commitment to uphold the university’s Principles of Community
  • Willingness to attend events at CSU and work outside of normal business hours

This assignment is for the Fall 2024 semester with the possibility of extending to the Spring 2025 semester.

Hours: 12-15 hours each week; flexible schedule 

Pay: $15/hour   

Materials:

  • Current resume listing relevant social and digital media experience
  • A brief cover letter outlining why you want to work in social media
  • Portfolio showing photo and/or video experience (via website, PDF, links, etc.)
