The Walter Scott Jr., College of Engineering has utilized the services of an Engineering Small Project Group since 2012 as a way to expedite services and reduce costs for those needing basic labor or moving services. The services rendered by this team are in concert with the objectives and mission of the College insomuch that they allow us to retain funding compared to similar labor services offered by the Facilities Management. The team is comprised of students and answers to the Facilities Director for the College. 

We will be hiring at least two part-time positions, both situated within the Walter Scott Jr., College of Engineering and will assisting faculty and staff with light-duty services ranging from relocation to cleanup services to the complete dismantling WSCOE space that is being repurposed. While the team will not engage in professional services (abatement, electric, water, gas, etc., leaving this to University Facilities), they will take on most other jobs that require manpower, moving, cleaning, painting, assembling, installing, as well as those tasks that have a very tight deadlines. Applicants should be have a basic knowledge of hand tools, basic construction, and have the ability to lift/move 40 lbs. Most important is your level of communication and prioritization. The applicant must be able to understanding and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Much of what we do is “dirty” work, meaning that you will have occasions where masks and gloves will be needed. As you will be going from the main campus to the foothills campus often, transportation is a plus. The salary is $18.00/hour.
